What We Are Doing

At the request of the community, we  offer after school activities for 70 primary school children who are often alone in the afternoon whilst their parents/carers work.

Our Outreach Programmes

We currently have 70 children attending our programmes over 3 afternoons a week.

Hero Books

An art therapy based programme that allows children to make their own picture books starring themselves as a hero overcoming problems.

Kids in the Garden

A food gardening programme that teaches the children about healthy eating, permaculture gardening, seed life cycles and plant parts.

Reading Nook

An English based reading and spelling programme where children can work on skills in small groups.
 

Healthy Me

An group teaching kids to keep their bodies healthy and safe, focussing on sexuality and HIV prevention.


Hands on Maths

Developing maths literacy skills in the real world.
Holiday Clubs and Special Outings.

Intensive Care Program

We offer intensive care to 25 children who have been directly affected by HIV and AIDS or who are extremely vulnerable for other reasons. These children attend our centre on 5 afternoons per week. they have access to specialised care that addresses their individual emotional, physical and educational needs. They have a meal with us cooked from our organic garden. They have a safe place to play - a home away from home.
