What We Are Doing
We offer after school activities for 105 children, aged 6-14, from Imizamo Yethu. Children enroll in the programs by filling in an application form and attending an interview with their parents/carers. Priority is given to children whose families are vulnerable, to children affected by HIV/AIDS and to children who have special learning needs. We also priorotise children from our neighbor nursery school - Little Lambs.

Family Support and Adult Education
We offer intensive care to 35 families who have been directly affected by HIV and AIDS or who are extremely vulnerable for other reasons. Our community workers visit with families in their homes to provide support, advocacy and referral. They also provide a valuable link between families, school, church and other communty services.
Our Adult Education pilot supports parents in caring for their families through therapeutic and skills based workshops and group work. The topics covered are nominated by the parents. Currently we offer parenting skills, literacy and depression support. We hope to be able to expand this program soon to include budgeting, computer skills and job readiness.
